A Medicines Use Review (MUR) aims to help you better understand the medicines you take, how they work and what they do.
It is a free service, funded by the NHS, which involves having a private consultation of around 15- 20 minutes, with the Pharmacist, focusing on how you use your medicines. The aim of the review is to help you better understand the medicines you take, how they work and what they do. It will also help your Pharmacist identify any problems you may be experiencing such as side effects or interactions with other medicines.
If you are taking more than one regular medicine, or are taking medication for a chronic condition and have been getting your prescriptions from us for more than the previous three months, ask a member of our pharmacy team for your Medicines Use Review. Your Pharmacist may be able to complete your Medicines Use Review whilst your medicines are being dispensed. If this is not possible they can arrange a convenient time for you to call back.
You will need to provide a list of all of the medicines you take. Include medicines that your doctor has prescribed and ones you buy from the pharmacy or elsewhere (this includes vitamins, supplements). This will help our Pharmacist to give you the best possible advice.

It can be passed from person to person either through airborne transmission (for example when someone coughs or sneezes) or by touching someone or something, which is contaminated with the virus. Lifelong immunity to the influenza virus is virtually impossible to achieve and therefore an annual vaccination is required to provide protection from the disease. Our fully trained Pharmacist will offer a user-friendly, non-judgmental, client-centred and confidential service. We can provide access to sterile needles and syringes, and sharps containers for return of used equipment. Where agreed locally, associated materials, for example condoms, citric acid and swabs, to promote safe injecting practice and reduce transmission of infections by substance misusers will be provided. Used equipment is normally returned by the service user for safe disposal. We can provide support and advice to the user, including referral to other health and social care professionals and specialist drug and alcohol treatment services where appropriate.
